daily workshops and seminars focusing on the power of gratitude, the science of thankfulness, how yoga and gratitude work in full complement; as well as creative ways to connect to one's self and one's community through gratitude;

daily meditations and journaling using texts like Gary Vaynerchuk's Crush It and The Thank You Economy, Dr. Robert A. Emmons' Thanks: How the New Science of Gratitude Can Make You Happier, M. J. FREE- Yogi Tree Community Night - Oct 29, 7-10 pm

The Yogi Tree's First Annual Community Night Bazaar

Friday, October 29, 7-10 pm

Halloween Theme! Come as your Favorite Spirit, Goddess/God, Fairy, Princess or Prince!

God creates men, but they choose each other, said Machiavelli.

The Yogi Tree is so grateful that you've chosen each other - and that you've chosen to share your journey with us.

We are so privileged and excited to invite you to this FREE celebration of The Yogi Tree community, which will honor you, our studio, and National Yoga Month (www.yogamonth.org).

Come as you are, with an open heart and whatever else you've got. Perhaps it's a delicious and healthy dessert or a scrumptious hors d'oeurvres (no alcohol, please). Maybe it's an acoustic guitar or a wonderfully funny joke. Could be you're an artist, a jewelry maker, a collector, or a poet. Whoever you are, whatever you love, however you fill your life, that's all we ask of you on this amazing evening of sharing and connection.

If you make art, bring it. If you make music, be ready to make it. If you do jokes or rhymes, prepare to crack them. If you collect comics or exotic bric-a-brac, don't be shy. If you love to eat, bring your favorite dish.

Please send and email to jennifer@theyogitree.com if you would like to vend or share your talent.

The Yogi Tree will provide music, meditation, an open mic, and that space we've all come to know and love.

Also, don't forget to clean out your closet, bringing along any clothing you no longer wear. We'll pile it up like a ceremonial bonfire, minus the flames, and take turns digging for buried treasure. You could walk away with a gently used blouse or a legendary pair of Doc Martens, a hot pair of jeans or a studly new (non)smoking jacket. Wacky - and fun!

Let's call this the First Annual Community Night Bazaar at The Yogi Tree. We know we'll be seeing you there...

Emotional Clearing with Essential Oils Workshop - Oct 17, 1-4 pm

Emotional Clearing With Essential Oils

Sunday, October 17, 1-4 pm
with Sophia Sharpe

Are you ready to let go and release what no longer serves you?

Join us as we dedicate this day to creating and performing a healing ceremony passed down from the temple of the Egyptian high priestess Isis. Isis is also known as the goddess of magic and alchemy.

According to Dr. Gary Young, a version of this ritual was performed to cleanse negative emotions and past life memories, to clear the pathways in preparation of new life energy in our daily life. In this class, you will have the opportunity to sense the power of intention, and the ability to create change while letting go and clearing your emotional, physical, and psychic space.

During the actual clearing process you will be in a relaxed meditative state, fully clothed, lasting about 2-3 hours as you are anointed with each of the sacred oils. My intention is to help you create the space to release old emotions to be replaced by feelings of emotional security, peace and self empowerment.

Please bring a snack, blanket and pillow, your journal and your intention for this ritual.

To Prepare: Write a single paragraph representing your intention for participation in this class. Bring it with you and be willing to share.

More on Young Living's Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils: These pure, potent plant remedies are uplifting, protective, calming, and regenerating -- a unique gift from the natural world. Often referred to as "nature's living energy" or the very essence of a plant, essential oils are aromatic liquids derived from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds. They not only determine the plant's aroma, but are vital for plants to grow, live, evolve, and adapt. Essential oils also help defend plants from insects, environmental conditions, and disease. Today, research shows that when used aromatically, applied topically, or taken internally, essential oils can calm, energize, balance, purify, and rejuvenate the mind and body. From perfumes and aromatherapy to cooking and medicinal purposes, essential oils have been a vital part of everyday life, dating back to 4500 BC.

ABOUT THE TEACHER
Sophie Sharpe
is an accredited member of the International Society of Lymphology, an educator, yoga teacher, holistic practitioner, and modern-day Shaman who integrates the use of pure essential oils and hands-on therapy to bring transformational shifts within the mind, body, and spirit. She has studied extensively and internationally with Dr. Gary Young.

Hypnotherapy & Kundalini Yoga for Weight Control - Oct 16, 1-4 pm

Weight Control Begins with Self Love: Hypnotherapy & Kundalini Yoga for Weight Control

Saturday,  October 16, 1-4 pm
with Jennifer Schaefer, C.Ht. & Sussy Castilla

You've heard the formula before: if you want to lose weight you have to exercise and watch what you eat. However, having strong willpower to follow through on your intention is not always a viable solution when there are greater forces at play. A holistic approach to losing weight recognizes there are deeper issues at hand. Your body is a field of energy manifesting in a way that tells a story about your life experiences. If you've experienced ongoing stress or trauma of any sort and haven't found a way to release it from your body it can manifest in a multitude of ways including pain, weight gain, insomnia or even addictive behavior. Somatic-based practices like YOGA have proven effective in releasing stress and trauma and regaining a flow of energy in the whole being. Methods like HYPNOTHERAPY work because they deal with your mind and habits at a deep subconscious level. In this workshop you will get to experience both of these practices, throwing a two-for-one punch towards a healthier you!

Kundalini Yoga is a powerful method for stimulating weight loss as it works on different levels of your being simultaneously. It physically stimulates the major glands of the body, regulates your metabolism, boosts your immune system and strengthens the nervous system, which is critical for dealing with stress. Meditation and breathing techniques used help break unwanted habits and regain your sense of power and self-esteem. Chanting connects you to that infinite field of love within so you can remember who you truly are and what you're capable of.

Hypnotherapy is a natural, healthy, and effective method for controlling your weight, tapping into your subconscious mind to change old associations to food so you can shed extra pounds with ease - and keep it off!

WEIGHT CONTROL BEGINS WITH SELF-LOVE is an intimate, nurturing, completely safe workshop offered by The Yogi Tree's Jennifer Schaefer and Sussy Castilla. Jennifer is a Certified Hypnotherapist with more than a decade of experience with weight control, smoking cessation, and other healthy lifestyle modifications. Sussy is a Certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and has experienced emotional healing and significant weight loss as a result of her yoga practice.

Now is the perfect time to make the necessary changes, an act of extreme self-care that can truly change your life forever. Join us for an empowering workshop!

ABOUT THE TEACHERS:
Jennifer Schaefer, C.Ht. is founder of Finding Your Power Hypnotherapy and My Imagination Series for pediatric hypnosis. She is also the co-author of In the Mud: A Guide for Everyday Parenting. Jennifer says: "I have always been a big believer in the Mind/Body connection. Through Hypnotherapy you can change your limiting beliefs that hold you back from your true potential. You can have or possess anything you truly believe you deserve. You are the creator of your future."

Sussy Castilla. Kundalini Yoga became a part of Sussy Castilla's life quite by surprise, the sacred science deeply shifting her perspective and the course of her spiritual journey. Trained at the world-renowned Goldenbridge Yoga in Los Angeles, Sussy brings strength, practicality, love, and enthusiasm to every class she teaches. We Need Your Thumbs: Review Todd's Book, ON GRATITUDE

We Need Your Thumbs:

Review Todd's Book, ON GRATITUDE Now

"A truly uplifting book, inspiring readers to live their lives to the utmost every single day. It's positive but not preachy, insightful but not belligerent."

Here's more of what The Burbank Leader had to say about ON GRATITUDE, written by The Yogi Tree's Todd Jensen:

http://www.burbankleader.com/entertainment/tn-blr-1006-gratitude,0,2381509.story

We love the part where critic Brian McGackin points out there is a Hall in the book (Daryl) and an Oates (Joyce Carol, NOT John). Clever stuff.

Now it's YOUR chance to turn thumbs up or down about my first book, ON GRATITUDE: SHERYL CROW, JEFF BRIDGES, ALICIA KEYS, DARYL HALL, RAY BRADBURY, ANNA KENDRICK, BB KING, ELMORE LEONARD, DEEPAK CHOPRA, AND 42 MORE CELEBRITIES SHARE WHAT THEY'RE MOST THANKFUL FOR.It's available in bookstores now, and at all online booksellers.

Would you please take 10 minutes from your very busy schedule to write a quick review of the book and post it at one -- or ALL! -- of the below links (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Powells). Good reviews really do bring awareness to books in the online marketplace. Your voice can make an enormous difference for my book.

Everyone posting a review today, please send me an email todd@thegratitudelist.org with a song request. If you follow my Facebook page, you know I do my best -- however silly, and usually intentionally so -- to sing for my supper. : )

So dust off the thumbs... Did you love the book? What was your favorite interview? A piece of insight that moved you? We're listening...

FREE Intro to Kundalini Yoga - Sat Sept 25, 1 - 4

FREE Intro to Kundalini Yoga
with Jennifer Kelly
Saturday, September 25, 1-4 pm

Are you new to yoga? Want to expand your current practice? Then this workshop is for you.

In this safe, supportive, uplifting workshop, we will learn the fundamentals of Kundalini Yoga. We will cover the basics of yoga philosophy, pranayama (breath control), mudras ( hand movements), asana (yoga postures), mantras (positive affirmations), and meditation. This is a great workshop for those wanting to learn more about yoga before taking their first formal class. It is also an excellent overview for newer students and a great refresher for current students.

What is Kundalini Yoga? A 5000 year-old science originated in India and brought to the United States by Yogi Bhajan some 40 years ago, Kundalini Yoga is for everyone - a blissful, challenging, celebratory practice that will help you achieve greater joy in your life and relief, too, from back pain, stress, addiction, depression, insomnia, and weight control issues.

How can Kundalini Yoga help me? An inspiring and invigorating combination of movement, sound current, breath, and meditation which promotes relaxation and healing, allowing your spirit to flow freely, Kundalini Yoga is also known as "the yoga of awareness." This practice can release emotional blocks and deepen the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat, a towel, a small pillow, and plenty of water.

ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Jennifer Kelly is more than a decade into her journey toward health, alternative healing, and spiritual awakening, introduced to the yogi way by Goldenbridge Yoga's world-renowned Gurmukh Khalsa.
